An Early Reference to DNA Barcode for the Anacardiaceae Family

نویسندگان

چکیده

Anacardiaceae is well-known for its edible fruits and economically important species in Indonesia. Approximately 3% of Indonesia's endangered vulnerable belong to this family. Fast accurate identification crucial support the conservation efforts family, such as employing DNA sequences. Species using sequences, known barcoding, has been widely used many applied fields. So far, application barcoding plant limited several genera only, Mangifera Spondias. This research aimed enrich barcode references evaluate most suitable effective genetic marker barcodes identify 35 samples representing sixteen family chloroplast markers matK rbcL regions. When comparing morphological with molecular assignments, accuracy was 62.50% (matK), 60.61% (rbcL), 73.33% (matK+rbcL) at genus level. All failed show a gap, even though t-test showed that intraspecific interspecific distances were significantly different rbcL+matK. Among others, Gluta walichii (Hook.f.) Ding Hou Melanochyla caesia Jack only successfully resolved by all markers. Nevertheless, new six made available study, enriching tropical flora diversity.

Improved protocols to accelerate the assembly of DNA barcode reference libraries for freshwater zooplankton

Currently, freshwater zooplankton sampling and identification methodologies have remained virtually unchanged since they were first established in the beginning of the XX century. One major contributing factor to this slow progress is the limited success of modern genetic methodologies, such as DNA barcoding, in several of the main groups. This study demonstrates improved protocols which enable...

DNA Barcode Identification of Podocarpaceae—The Second Largest Conifer Family

We have generated matK, rbcL, and nrITS2 DNA barcodes for 320 specimens representing all 18 extant genera of the conifer family Podocarpaceae. The sample includes 145 of the 198 recognized species. Comparative analyses of sequence quality and species discrimination were conducted on the 159 individuals from which all three markers were recovered (representing 15 genera and 97 species). The vast...

The DNA Barcode Linker.

DNA barcoding is based on the use of short DNA sequences to provide taxonomic tags for rapid, efficient identification of biological specimens. Currently, reference databases are being compiled. In the future, it will be important to facilitate access to these databases, especially for nonspecialist users. The method described here provides a rapid, web-based, user-friendly link between the DNA...

2D Barcode for DNA Encoding

The paper presents a solution for endcoding/decoding DNA information in 2D barcodes. First part focuses on the existing techniques and symbologies in 2D barcodes field. The 2D barcode PDF417 is presented as starting point. The adaptations and optimizations on PDF417 and on DataMatrix lead to the solution – DNA2DBC – DeoxyriboNucleic Acid Two Dimensional Barcode. The second part shows the DNA2DB...

BOKP: A DNA Barcode Reference Library for Monitoring Herbal Drugs in the Korean Pharmacopeia

Herbal drug authentication is an important task in traditional medicine; however, it is challenged by the limitations of traditional authentication methods and the lack of trained experts. DNA barcoding is conspicuous in almost all areas of the biological sciences and has already been added to the British pharmacopeia and Chinese pharmacopeia for routine herbal drug authentication. However, DNA...
